Scent Detection with Laura & Jo

Service Description

Your day will involve half a day training session with Laura Roberts from K9 Find it, & half a day with Jo Brook from Positively Canine. Laura has been fascinated by the olfactory skills of dogs for over a decade, leading her to explore a variety of disciplines. She has qualified and deployed two of her hounds as scent specific trailing dogs with the police, and currently trains her own dogs in HRD and digital hardware detection. A qualified instructor with both UK and Dutch organisations, she enjoys the variety of methodologies available to students of the nosework sports, seeking to find the most appropriate way to solve the problems teams face throughout their journey. Laura has a particular love for “the geeky stuff”, including the impact of ethology, air flow and environmental impacts on odour, and independence vs interdependence of the human/dog team during the search. Jo has attended many a training workshop, seminar & webinars with elite scent work trainers & professionals. She has a passion for helping teams succeed and working with different breeds, & does also love the geeky stuff, especially to do with odour movement. Jo has successfully trainined teams that compete at trials and who consistently excel. During the workshop you will have the oppurtunity to work on your goals and have Lauras & Jos expertise to help you progress Location Ripon Racecourse dogs are worked one at a time must be okay settling in vehicles.
