Service Description

Your day will involve a training session with Laura Roberts from K9 Find it. Laura has been fascinated by the olfactory skills of dogs for over a decade, leading her to explore a variety of disciplines. She has qualified and deployed two of her hounds as scent specific trailing dogs with the police, and currently trains her own dogs in HRD and digital hardware detection. A qualified instructor with both UK and Dutch organisations, she enjoys the variety of methodologies available to students of the nosework sports, seeking to find the most appropriate way to solve the problems teams face throughout their journey. Laura has a particular love for “the geeky stuff”, including the impact of ethology, air flow and environmental impacts on odour, and independence vs interdependence of the human/dog team during the search. Outline of the workshop will be as follows - Independence Vs Interdependence - Find out how much your dog does or doesn't rely on you during the search.
