Service Description

This workshop is aimed at learning about buried & submerged hides. You will learn how to get started and progress. There will be some theory going into how this may alter the scent and how the scent picture may "look" for your dogs. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussions. Mark has a wide range of experience both in pro-active detection dog work and within canine detection research. Mark started his career with his own company Enviro-Dogs who are the UK's leading supplier of dry rot detection dogs. Enviro-Dogs have also been involved in Pangolin detection research with Wildlife Reserve Singapore and advising with the setup of new conservation detection companies. Alongside his background in traditional detection work, Mark worked with Medical detection Dogs for nearly 5 years where he reached the top level of bio detection trainer. While at the charity Mark has worked with Malaria, bacteria, cancer and Parkinson's disease detection dogs. Mark has been project lead on an array of research and has also managed the bio detection training team. Mark has worked in the private security industry training & handling detection dogs. currently Mark is a Training & Behavior advisor at Guide Dogs for the Blind. The day will start at 10am and aim to finish at 4pm. There will be tea and coffee available but please do bring lunch. As a spectator you will learn a lot over the 2 days, watching dogs work and develop and you can ask questions during the course.
